Embrace 5 AM and Seize the Day with Unparalleled Energy and Motivation

Welcome to the latest edition of Level UP, your go-to source for actionable strategies and insights on self-development.

In this edition, we're diving into a topic that many of us aspire to achieve: waking up at 5 AM and feeling refreshed and energized. We often hear about the benefits of an early morning routine, from increased productivity to improved mental well-being.

However, the challenge lies in actually waking up early and not feeling tired throughout the day. Fear not, as we have some valuable insights and strategies to help you conquer the early wake-up call. So, let's get started!

1. HAVE A STRONG WHY

Why do you want to wake up at 5 am?

Don’t do it because everyone else is saying they’re doing it. Set very specific goals about not just what you want to do during those morning hours. But the results you want to achieve in a week, 1 month or a year.

Make sure your goal is tied to a strong why

It’s gonna pull you out of your warm and comfortable bed on a cold winter day in the middle of the night.

2. MAKE A PLAN THE NIGHT BEFORE

Now that you know the results you want, define the mini-steps and actions you need to take. Set goals for your perfect, dream morning routine.

Ask Yourself: What would you want to have accomplished during those early hours?

Note it down

3. GO TO BED AS SOON AS YOU FEEL TIRED

If you want to wake up at 5 you’d need to go to bed at 9-9:30 pm to get enough sleep. But the reality is, you won’t be able to go to bed this early at the beginning.

Go to bed as soon as you feel tired. Do not spend hours watching TV, your phone or another screen, these things are designed to keep you awake and engaged. Put everything on airplane mode around an hour before you want to go to sleep.

Write your plan for the next day, declutter a little bit, shower and skincare and then read the most boring book in bed. You’ll be sleeping before you know it.

Remember that you need at least 6 hours of sleep to be a well-functioning human being the next day.

4. DO NOT HIT SNOOZE

If you hit it then wake up anyway. The point is, you snooze – you lose.

You lose time and you lose energy because those micro “snooze” naps only make you more tired.

Get over it and get up – it will be better before you know it.

5. DO SOMETHING YOU’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO

Coffee or cappuccino can be that tiny reward that will get you to become a morning person.

Don’t fight it.

Have a little treat and enjoy this me time. You deserve it.

6. DO NOT TAKE A NAP DURING THE DAY

At some point (around 2 pm) you might feel very tempted to just go to bed and take a nap.

If you just push through, you won’t be too alert at 9 pm and it will help you adjust to this new rhythm.

Remember, transitioning to waking up at 5 AM is a personal journey. It may take time to establish a consistent routine, and occasional setbacks are normal. Be patient with yourself and celebrate the progress you make along the way.

We hope these strategies will help you conquer the early mornings and embrace the rewards they bring. Stay tuned for more practical tips, inspiring stories, and expert insights in the next edition.

Wishing you energized mornings and productive days ahead!
